The Eden Project St Austell Cornwall

One has to be alone, under the sky, before everything falls into place and one finds his or her own place in the midst of it all. We have to have the humility to realize ourselves as part of nature-Thomas Merton. (1)

This idea about a "realization to see myself as being a part of nature", has been an on going personal journey experienced over the last couple of years. "The busyness of life" that Georgia O'keeffe talks about concerning her detailed works enabling us to really look at natures wonder and Franz Krajcberg's own recognisation that nature in the Brazilian Rainforest, 'gave him back his humanity' after traumatic events from war, seems to me significant indicators of a need to acknowledge... a need to reconnect with nature in order to have a more whole life... in an era of electronic technology and the amount of growing disconnection with nature. As William Irwin Thompson says "we are suffering a kind of collective hypnosis, a cultural trance that prevents us from seeing things the way they really are."(4)...( yet I am aware I sit at a computer now and tap these words and it is being read!) I suppose what it all comes down to is getting a balance in life to be able acknowledge or become aware and finding ones own level in it all.

"I go to nature to be soothed and healed and to have my senses put in order. "- John Burroughs (2)

A recent trip to The Eden Project was a great experience: The dome shaped Biomes were the grand inspiration of Tim Smit, whose ideas began in the late 1990s and after a number of years of hard work and a dedicated team of people, architects, constructing designing the Eden Project from Old mines the project was opened to the public in March 2001; It holds concerts, and seasonal events through out the year.  Along with informative events that are educational.
Here are some images I took of the day

Eden Project Giant Biome of Rainforest

It is a great project as it is dedicated to raising public awareness of the ecological issues that have arisen concerning the effects of deforestation in Rainforests and the impact upon the ecosystems - the effects upon all life forms such as plants, forests, fauna, animals, and indigenous people groups.

The main Biome based on the Rainforest contains an exotic array of flora, fauna, trees ( banana), Palm rubber trees, insects (but no big spiders!), birds ponds streams and so forth. The temperature is  a humid the whole experience was a tangible and memorable one.

Green is the prime color of the world, and that from which its loveliness arises.

Nature, Atmosphere, integrated with quotes

Hello Welcome! here are some recent  works experimenting with ideas that are atmospheric in mood; in response to nature and that which is nature inspired...

Without culture, and the relative freedom it implies, society, even when perfect, is but a jungle. This is why any authentic creation is a gift to the future.
